MUSC publishes a 52 credit prerequisite block: 8 credits each of general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology or zoology, physics and science electives, all with lab, plus 6 credits of English and 6 of mathematics. The page states the college accepts AP credits to fulfill prerequisite requirements, and that required coursework may include coursework taken at a community or technical college and/or offered in an online format, which is unusually permissive for a dental school. Official US DAT scores must be less than five years old and Canadian DAT scores are not accepted. The page reports an average accepted DAT of 20 AA / 21 DAT and average GPAs of 3.65 cumulative and 3.59 science; those DAT figures are on the old 1 to 30 scale, not the 200 to 600 scale in use since March 2025, so read them as historical class averages rather than as targets on the test you will sit. Strong preference goes to applicants who have or will have completed four years of college coursework and earned a bachelor's degree before matriculation. The page names no shadowing or observation hour figure at all, so the baseline expectation stands unmodified here.
