Hands on care is what it prefers: "Preference will be given to applicants having significantly greater than 200 hours of volunteer or work experience and to those applicants having experience that requires a period of training and results in direct (hands-on) patient care."

High Point publishes a ten row prerequisite table in semester hours: Human or Vertebrate Anatomy 4 ("Includes one-credit laboratory"), Human or Vertebrate Physiology 3, Biological Science 8 ("Includes two one-credit laboratories"), Upper Level Human Biological Science 3, Microbiology 3 ("Includes laboratory"), General/Inorganic Chemistry 4 ("Includes one-credit laboratory"), Additional Chemistry 4 ("Includes one-credit laboratory"), Statistics 3, Psychology 3, and Humanities and Social Sciences 9. Every prerequisite needs "a grade of 'C' or above," "No prerequisite course may be taken on a 'pass/fail', 'credit/non-credit' basis," and the recency window is ten years: "Prerequisite science courses must be completed within 10 years prior to June enrollment." Timing: "Only one prerequisite course may be in progress during the Fall semester of the year in which you apply. All courses must be completed by the end of the Fall semester." Credit rules: community college credits accepted, online non laboratory credits accepted, but the program "will not accept laboratory course credits completed online"; AP credit needs a score of 4 or higher and IB a 5 or higher, and the course must appear on a college transcript with credits. A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university is required prior to enrollment, with hard GPA floors: "Minimum Cumulative Undergraduate Science GPA of 3.2" and "Minimum Cumulative Undergraduate Overall GPA of 3.2." The GRE is required: "Official GRE scores are required," "Applicants must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test within five years of the application deadline," and "We do not use a cutoff of minimum GRE score, however we do consider strength of GRE scores relative to other applicants." Report to CASPA GRE code 7291. The PA-CAT is not mentioned. The program's admission FAQ page names an application deadline of October 1 and says international students are welcome if they meet the requirements; no residency preference is stated.
