Recency: "Prerequisite courses must have been completed no more than seven (7) years from the year of planned enrollment"; older courses may be retaken, and prerequisites older than seven years are also not counted toward the GPA, with exceptions for applicants holding graduate degrees in the biological or chemical sciences or public health. Format: "Online coursework is not acceptable for the prerequisite requirements. All science coursework must be completed in a traditional, in-person classroom environment." Community college coursework is acceptable; AP or IB scores of 4 or higher are accepted for prerequisites; upper-level or graduate coursework cannot substitute for lower-level prerequisites. Grades: "It is required that there be no pre-requisite below a B-," and a course below that may be retaken. A maximum of two prerequisites may be in progress at application, and beginning Fall 2028 all prerequisites must be completed before applying. GPA floor: "3.0 Minimum Cumulative Undergraduate and Cumulative Science GPA (CSGPA)," with preference to higher GPAs and, unusually, "preference to candidates with a Master's degree." A baccalaureate from a U.S. or Canadian accredited institution must be completed by June 30 of the enrollment year. Testing: "The GRE General Test administered by ETS (Educational Testing Service) is not required"; the page does not mention the PA-CAT or CASPer. Applications go through CASPA with a March 1 e-submit deadline and rolling admissions until the cohort is filled; prerequisites must be entered in CASPA by June 30 of the enrollment year. Three professional references are required. The program gives preference to leadership positions in school and community service on the resume.
