The Katz School publishes a short prerequisite list, each course "with a grade of B (3.0) or better in each course, and an overall prerequisite GPA of 3.0 or better": "Two semesters of general chemistry with lab (or two higher-level chemistry courses with lab); Two semesters of general biology with lab (or two higher-level biology courses with lab); One semester of statistics (or biostatistics); One semester of microbiology (lab not required); One semester of human anatomy with a lab; One semester of human physiology (at least three credits)," where "Anatomy & Physiology I and II will be accepted to satisfy this requirement if the courses are 200-level or equivalent, or higher." Recency: "Prerequisite courses must be taken within 10 years of the time of application." AP credit counts only for chemistry, biology and statistics and only if an undergraduate institution awarded credit on the transcript. "Two prerequisite courses may be outstanding at the time of application but must be completed prior to beginning the program"; "Applications with more than two outstanding prerequisite courses will not be considered." A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required "with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all science courses as calculated by CASPA." Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and "scored and ranked by GPAs and letters of recommendation" to set interview order. Acceptances are binding to the cohort with no deferrals. Applicants should know that as of its April 2026 meeting the ARC-PA extended Accreditation-Probation status for this program until its next review in April 2028, as stated on the program FAQ.
