York publishes its 2026 to 2027 cycle requirements as a course list in years and semesters, without credit counts: "Completion of a bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher" and "8 Science Prerequisite Courses with a GPA of 3.0 or higher": one year of General Biology with lab (2 courses), one year of General Chemistry with lab (2), one semester of Biochemistry (1, no lab required), one year of Human Anatomy and Physiology with lab (2), and one semester of Microbiology, clinical micro preferred (1, no lab required); plus one semester of Statistics and "1 year of behavioral sciences - Must include 1 semester of Psychology- The other semester could be Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology." "One (1) semester of Organic Chemistry (may be required as a prerequisite for Biochemistry)" is listed under considerations, not as a program prerequisite. Recency: "The Human Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology courses must have been taken within the previous 5 years," and "Science prerequisites and the statistics course completed more than 10 years ago will not be used in the prerequisite GPA calculations." Grades: for A&P I and II and Microbiology, "earned grades of C+ and below will not be accepted. In the event these courses are repeated, the average of both attempts must be at least a 'B -' (or GPA of 2.7)." "Each prerequisite can only be repeated once," both attempts within 10 years are averaged, and CLEP may substitute for repeating General Biology or General Chemistry. Up to three prerequisites may be pending at application (one science course or statistics, not both, plus the behavioral science courses), all complete by July 31 before enrollment. Testing: "Standardized examinations, such as the GRE, MCAT, or PA-CAT, are not factored into the admission decision process and are therefore not required for application." Experience: "750 hours of documented patientcare experience (volunteer or paid). Completion of 500 hours at the time of application submission," with a patient care experience verification letter among the supporting documents. Letters: "3 references," writers unspecified. CASPA deadline December 1, 11:59 pm; applicants apply to CUNY only if invited to interview. A weighted point system gives preference to first-generation students, veterans, NYC metro residents, CUNY students and alumni, and financially disadvantaged applicants, and "Shadowing or working with a PA is also highly valuable." The page points to a 2026-2027 PA Admission Brochure for repeat-course and other details, which was not read.
